Experiment with Color & Liquids
If you add a drop of food coloring to a glass of water, the food coloring
mixes into the water. If you add a drop of oil to water, the oil will
not mix with the water. Now place a drop of liquid detergent on top of
the oil drop, and the oil drop practically explodes into the water.
Try this experiment of adding colors to a pan of milk and add detergent
to watch a colorful display
Materials Needed
- Pie Plate
- Milk
- Food coloring
- Liquid dish soap
- Toothpick

Fill a pie plate with a enough milk to cover the bottom completely.

Gently add 2 or 3 drops of food coloring. Use several colors
and space them out around the plate.

Dip a toothpick in liquid dish soap.

Place the tip of the tootpick into one of the colors, then into
each of the others.
